An Incredible Story of Love

And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Christmas Cheer

Christmas is a season for kindling the fire for hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.
Washington Irving

My brothers and sisters, true love is a reflection of the Savior's love. In December of each year we call it the Christmas spirit. You can hear it. You can see it. You can feel it. Thomas S. Monson

Peace and Goodwill

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
Calvin Coolidge

True Love is Selfless

True love is eternal, infinite, and always like itself. It is equal and pure, without violent demonstrations: it is seen with white hairs and is always young in the heart.

True Love

Have you ever wondered if your love is True?

Is it possible to have a true, lasting love?

The late President George H. W. Bush was married to his wife for over 60 years!!! Most people surely know of life-long love stories like theirs. Maybe they came from a different generation where marriage was truly a sacred bond. A bond not to be tampered with. Maybe they knew something ( or many somethings ) about how to make marriage last.

Happily Ever After

And the Poor Dears haven't the shadow of a doubt they will live happily ever afterwards.

True love gives true love of the best:
Then take,” I cried, “my heart to thee!”
The very heart from out my breast
I plucked, I gave it willingly:
Her very heart she gave to me.

He Knew not Why

The light was faint, and soft the air
That breathed around the place;
And she was lithe, and tall, and fair,
And with a wayward grace
Her queenly head she bare.

With glowing cheek, with gleaming eye,
She met me on the way:
My spirit owned the witchery
Within her smile that lay:
I followed her, I knew not why.

A Song of Love

Say, what is the spell, when her fledgelings are cheeping,
That lures the bird home to her nest?
Or wakes the tired mother, whose infant is weeping,
To cuddle and croon it to rest?
What the magic that charms the glad babe in her arms,
Till it cooes with the voice of the dove?
’Tis a secret, and so let us whisper it low—
And the name of the secret is Love!
For I think it is Love,
For I feel it is Love,
For I’m sure it is nothing but Love!

Say, whence is the voice that, when anger is burning,
Bids the whirl of the tempest to cease?
That stirs the vexed soul with an aching—a yearning
For the brotherly hand-grip of peace?
Whence the music that fills all our being—that thrills
Around us, beneath, and above?
’Tis a secret: none knows how it comes, how it goes—
But the name of the secret is Love!
For I think it is Love,
For I feel it is Love,
For I’m sure it is nothing but Love!

Say, whose is the skill that paints valley and hill,
Like a picture so fair to the sight?
That flecks the green meadow with sunshine and shadow,
Till the little lambs leap with delight?
’Tis a secret untold to hearts cruel and cold,
Though ’tis sung, by the angels above,
In notes that ring clear for the ears that can hear—
And the name of the secret is Love!
For I think it is Love,
For I feel it is Love,
For I’m sure it is nothing but Love!

The Kiss

She beckoned him with her eyes, he tilted his head so that his face touched hers and placed his mouth on that mouth which was like a freshly cracked fig. For a long time, Patrice kissed him, and with a deep astonishment the young man felt how she taught him, how wise she was, how she controlled him, rejected him, lured him, and how after this first one there was to be a long, a well ordered, well tested sequence of kisses, everyone different from the others, he was still to receive.

Breathing deeply, he remained standing where he was, and was in this moment astonished like a child about the cornucopia of knowledge and things worth learning, which revealed itself before his eyes.

Simple is the life which people lead in this world. All we need is Love. and kisses.

A Kiss on the Beach

He saw her once, and in the glance,
A moment’s glance of meeting eyes,
His heart stood still in sudden trance:
He trembled with a sweet surprise—
All in the waning light she stood,
The star of perfect womanhood.

Giving Thanks for All the Love

Thank You for all the Love we are so lucky to receive. And Give.

Life has taught us that love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.

Learning to love yourself is perhaps the greatest love of all.

Happy ThanksGiving!

The Fine Line

Do you hate someone? Do you ever find yourself harboring hateful thoughts about someone? What is it with hate? Where on earth did we learn to hate? Is it a tool the devil uses to turn us against the most basic tenants of the Bible? Is hate a part of our DNA?

I hate my ex. Do you suppose she gives a rats ass?  If the table was turned - if she has equal hatred for me - should i give a flying ( rhymes with buck ) ?

Hate is such a huge waste of time and energy. It can drain you and rob you of time you might spend actually enjoying life. When you spend even a moment hating anyone - you are the one who loses.

How do you get past those feelings of hate? Is there an easy way to simply turn it off? To get over it and move on? People ( and insurance companies ) spend millions on therapy every year trying to process and get past the pain of divorce. Attorneys reap windfalls of cash from our break-ups.

Who wins when hate rears its ugly head? not the hater... does the target of our hatred lose anything?

Are those feelings of bitterness and betrayal doing anyone any good at all?  Maybe we just need to learn how to somehow switch those negative emotions off when they pop into our brains.  Perhaps we can learn to recognize the or acknowledge the bad thought and choose to move on to better thoughts. Maybe we can teach ourselves to learn from our losses and find something to be thankful for.

Maybe John Candy was right when he told Tom Hanks "No one ever said Love was going to be easy."  (What was the name of that movie? Splash? )
